The Buyer will consistently facilitate/support the delivery of the highest quality products available, and help to achieve REC/HXI’s vision of being the world’s preferred supplier of all frequency products. This position is critical to the efficient movement of materials into and through the facility. The individual in this position must be extremely organized and keenly aware of changes that happen on a day-to-day basis in regards to materials (i.e. ECR’s due dates, vendor delivery lapses, internal policy decisions with regards to inventory), and work with multiple departments to maximize efficiencies in terms of material flow.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and expedition of material using available reports/data in order to assist with meeting the organization’s on-time delivery standards
  • Review backlog and shortage reports and take required action on shortages, completing all applicable reporting documents
  • Maintain and use available reports (i.e. Backlog in OneDrive) to track materials from Suppliers to ensure real-time information to the organization
  • Manage Quality Vendor Reporting System, including issuing of and follow up on reports and Corrective Action Requests as required
  • Maintain electronics filing system for efficient tracking of quotes and other purchasing activities
  • Purchase materials and supplies from vendors, obtaining the highest quality parts at the best possible prices, identifying new suppliers when necessary
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and change orders in accordance with customer MRP requirements
  • Assist with material rejection per AS9100 procedures, as required
  • Create monthly blanket reviews, as required
  • Assist with the resolution of debits/MRB issues as quickly as possible to meet parts requirements, as required
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by Manager


  • BS/BA preferred with 2+ years experience in buying/planning
  • Experience with RF/Microwave/Millimeter Wave components a plus
  • Experience with MRP Systems a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office required
