We are seeking a driven and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Harvard, MA. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will facilitate and perform HR-related duties while working closely with employees and management team in supporting the operational needs of the organization. The day-to-day activities include: payroll, on boarding, general employment law compliance, assisting with benefits and leave administration; and perform other duties as assigned. Initiatives you will champion


  • Responsible for maintaining bi-weekly payroll processing; analyze, prepare and process payroll data, use payroll system to produce accurate, timely payroll
  • Produce 1099 forms as needed

Talent Acquisition

  • Conduct new hire on-boarding including verification of I-9 documentation, complete all required employment forms, and review benefit enrollment forms
  • Support the acquisition onboarding process by enrolling employees in benefits


  • Maintain supply of Benefit Enrollment packets and updates annually during Open Enrollment
  • Collect and process benefit enrollment forms
  • Process benefits enrollments and mid-year qualifying events
  • Coordinate all Worker’s Compensation claim

HRIS systems

  • Add, update and maintain personnel records in HRIS system

Employee relations

To be successful in this role you will need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent, preferred
  • 3 years of hands on HR experience as a Generalist
  • Payroll processing experience required
  • Experience with benefit administration, leave of absence administration and general employment law compliance, multi-state
  • Previous experience with a HRIS is a plus
  • Understanding of current federal, state, and local labor law
  • Experience with compliance in a multi-state environment is a plus
  • General knowledge of federal and state protected leaves of absence laws
  • Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) experience required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-Starter with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
